Helen Richardson (voted UK Womens Player of the Year by the Hockey Writers Club and former student of the West Bridgford School) officiated at the opening ceremony, organised by the Monarchs Hockey Club. Helen now plays hockey for Great Britain, England and Reading and has over 100 caps and represented GB at the Sydney and Beijing Olympics. The Monarchs Hockey Club, National Hockey Federation, Rushcliffe Borough Council and WBMHC Buy a Square, all contributed to make this project possible. A big thank you to them all!
