At GCSE (5 A*- C including English & Maths)
At A level (Average point score per candidate)
You may have noticed in the news that the school league tables have now been published for 2011 and I am confident you will be pleased with the position of the West Bridgford school within them.
In Nottinghamshire we are the highest performing state funded school at GCSE when using the ‘gold standard’ measure, the five higher passes including English and Maths, which 90% of our children achieved.
At ‘A’ level our average point score per entry of 228.6 is again the highest in the county and we are the only state funded school in the county to have 100% of our children achieve 3 ‘A’ levels.
It is also interesting to then compare our results nationally. Of course some selective grammar schools outperform us at GCSE but by no means all and it is clear that we are amongst one of the highest performing comprehensives in the country. At ‘A’ level we also outperform many selective grammar schools.
Naturally I am very proud of the achievements of our students and staff and, of course, of the support of our parents without whom this would not have been possible
